Hotels in TurkeyHotelsTurkey offers a variety of tourism accommodation ranging from Meeting and Conference Hotels to Spa and Health Resorts. It is possible to find budget or luxury accommodation in most of Turkeys major cities. It is possible to find hotels with non-smoking rooms, hotels with rooms catering to the disabled and pet-friendly hotels. Several international hotel chains are present in Turkey, including Best Western, Corinthia, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Iberotel, Kempinski and Starwood hotels. ![]() Recently Turkey gained another notch in its luxury tourism cap as Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts announced their decision to enter the Turkish hotel market. Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts are renowned for their signature blend of romance and Asian sensuality. Their hotels, resorts, spas and galleries are based on the philosophy of providing a place to rejuvenate the body, mind and soul – a “Sanctuary for the Senses”. They will be managing a hotel in Bodrum, in what the Executive Chairman refers to as “tapping into what we see as Bodrum’s yet unrealized potential as a high-end resort and vacation home ownership destination” Camping/Caravanning While Turkey is not primarily a camping destination and therefore facilities can sometimes be relatively poor, they can be very peaceful and tend not to be too crowded, even in high season. Campsites can often be found near pensions or even in their back gardens. You can often camp even without a campsite for a nominal fee and sometimes even for free. Standards do vary greatly though from a basic field to fully serviced camping sites, with costs varying accordingly. Some camp sites have permanently erected tents along with mattresses, blankets and clean sheets which can be rented. When camping in Turkey it is of utmost importance to ensure that your tent is in the shade during the early morning hours (possibly in one of the olive tree clusters dotted around the campsite). Youth Hostels Due to the very reasonable rates charged by Turkish pensions, there is an almost non-existent demand for youth hostels. It is possible to arrange accommodation in some student dormitories (Yurt) for short term during the summer but they can be unexciting, packed and not centrally located. The Yurtkur General Directorate can be contacted for more information (Tel. 312-431 11 00) |
